Why would kids make fun of me for this?

I play in an international level youth orchestra, and we are going to Europe on tour this summer. I told my friends, but purposely left out one of them because she's not the type to keep secrets, I mean she's nice but she doesn't think before she talks. Well, my friends thought she already knew, so they told her, and she accidentally said it aloud, and now almost all the kids in my grade are making fun of me because of the trip. They are calling me a nerd and a geek, leaving mean letters in my desk,and horrible wall posts on Facebook. Why are they making fun of me for going on a tour to Europe? I'm a quiet girl; in fact, I rarely talk to the kids, and when I do, it's out of politeness. What did I do to be treated like this? All because I'm in an orchestra?!
