My bestfriend bores me too death with talk about her child?

You guys are on different levels. All parents are proud. Some people get extremely absorbed into their children and it does begin to push people away. If the child is already 4, I don't see her changing anytime soon. If it really bothers you that much, and interfers with you guys being able to hold conversations, maybe cut back on the time you spend together.
