Why is it that those not capable of empathy have great charisma?

Many sociopaths and psychopaths are not capable of things like empathy and remorse, but they still seem to be so magnetic and charismatic. Look at people like Hitler and Jim Jones. They were very charismatic despite being not being capable of empathizing with others. Is there some connection between these two things?
