How Should My Character Get Out of Her Engagement?

i think it would be funny if the girl tried despretly to get the clergyman to fall in love with someone else. then that plan totally fails so she has to tell him the honest truth. the clergyman is nice about it and understands. i'd say go for it (the scandal thing)
