Girls what would you think if a guy asked you if you were single in conversation?

It crosses your mind that he might be interested, but there are other reasons that he could be asking... such as he wants to know if youre available, he wants to be able to back off if you're not, he could just be asking because he wants to know about your life (not likely though)
